Accreditation

The Belbin Accreditation Course:

The two day accreditation course is ideal for professionals who will be using Belbin Team Roles with individuals and teams, or who will be teaching the model. The course addresses 4 main areas:

  • The Theory, including the original work carried out by Dr. Meredith Belbin and his team at Henley Management College.
  • The Nine Belbin Team Roles. The strengths and allowable / non-allowable weaknesses of each Team Role are explored in detail, along with combinations of Team Roles.. we rarely have a preference for just one type of behavior.
  • The practical use of Belbin Team Roles. This includes analysis of the reports and ways in which you can use them in numerous situations, including Team Building, Coaching and Conflict Management.
  • The full scope of using Belbin team Roles. This explores the benefits of 360 degree feedback, team dynamics and job analysis.

Course synopsis:

  • Introduction to Team Roles: Historical background. Understanding of Team Role terminology.
  • How Team Role profiling differs from psychometric assessments. The pros and cons of each.
  • Demonstration of Belbin interplace software, its capabilities and the advantages. How the various reports can be used to support personal development, management training, team building & organization development.
  • Using Belbin for selection & career planning.
  • An overview of materials, videos & exercises that have been developed to support the learning & use of the Belbin Team Role model.
  • Expert interaction: Questions, answers, ideas, tips, problems and solutions. Participants have the opportunity to raise issues of particular relevance to them.
  • Preparatory coaching & conduct of accreditation test.

What can you do with Belbin accreditation?:

  • Conduct training programs on Belbin Team Roles.
  • Understand and interpret Belbin Team Role Reports towards : Coaching people | Handling conflicts | Matching people to jobs and matching jobs to people | Selecting a team for a task | Resolving issues in a team.
  • Integrate Belbin Team Roles as part of Management & Leadership Development Process
  • Become an internal or external Consultant on People & Performance
  • Preparatory coaching & conduct of accreditation test.
